Judicial Campaign Conduct Forums

Anyone seeking judicial office should plan to attend an upcoming Judicial Campaign Conduct Forum. The forums are scheduled for May 2 and 3, 2024, and will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa, and online via Zoom.

Due to the unique requirements related to campaign conduct for people seeking judicial office, all incumbent and non-incumbent candidates facing opposition in elections for judicial office are expected to participate in one of the forums.

Presenters, including members of the Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, will emphasize the nonpartisan character of judicial elections for candidates, committee chairs, campaign managers, staff, and others involved in campaigns. The forums will also provide critical information on the campaign requirements included in Canon 7 of the Code of Judicial Conduct. Presenters will also stress the seriousness with which the Florida Supreme Court views any abuse of the elections process and the consequent impact of campaign misconduct on public trust and confidence in the judicial branch.
